Aspartame
An artificial sweetener. Aspartame is composed of two amino acids, aspartic acid and phenylalanine, as the methyl ester.

Caffeine
A natural stimulant found in many common foods and drinks, including coffee, tea and chocolate. It is also added to many drinks such as soda. An alkaloid.
Calcium Saccharin
A variety of saccharin, low calorie sugar substitute.
Caramel Color
Caramel Color is usually made of burning or heating sugars sometimes with acids until the desired color is reached.
Carbonated Water
Water that has been highly charged with carbon dioxide making it effervescent. Diet sodas generally have more carbonated water.

Phenylalanine
Phenylalanine is part of the composition of aspartame, a common sweetener found in prepared foods (particularly soft drinks, and gum). Due to phenylketonuria (the inability to metabolize phenylalanine), products containing aspartame usually have a warning label that they contain phenylalanine, in compliance with U.S. FDA guidelines.
Phosphoric Acid
An acid used mainly in agricultural fertilizers. It is added into soda to make a sharper taste, and prevent the growth of molds and bacteria. It is also known to deplete the bones. Our bodies balance phosphorous with Calcium. Calcium is released from our teeth and bones into our bloodstreams to help balance the phosphoric acid in the pop we drink
Potassium Benzoate
A crystalline compound. The sodium salt of benzoic acid. It is used as a preservative in foods and beverages; because it is poisonous, the concentration is limited by law to 0.1%.
